Our team has rich experience in programming of complex system level solutions compliant to a number of wireless protocols. Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is the de-facto standard for wireless information and telephony services on digital mobile phones and other wireless terminals. WAP Forum has delivered a set of standard Internet protocols designed to run on top of IP and other wireless carriers. There is now a single standard mechanism for wireless application interoperability and one XML-compliant markup language, WML (Wireless Markup Language), used industry-wide.
The WAP concept is developed by a large group of handset manufacturers, wireless network operators, and software providers. The purpose is to break the dependence between systems, vendors and applications. In other words, WAP will constitute an open architecture allowing to access applications from various terminals through various data transports, such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, or SMS.
Over last years we completed a number of WAP development projects. WAP compliant programming is not the only thing that we do. As a matter of fact, our team has a deep expertise in a range of wireless protocols including WAP/WSP, WTP, WTLS, WP-HTTP, and WML.
To have a better idea on what we do, please review these featured case studies:
Project: WAP Stack
The software that we developed is a library that includes 100% WAP2-compliant implementation of WAP Protocol Stack (WPS). WAP Stack is a session-level stack for remote operations between terminal client and WAP gateway (proxy). It was primarily developed for Win32 platform, and then it was extended to Windows CE and Windows Mobile platforms.
It implements the following protocols:
WSP (Wireless Session Protocol) | WTP (Wireless Transaction Protocol) | WTLS (Wireless Transport Layer Security) | WP-HTTP (Wireless Profiled HTTP) |
|
 |
The stack is written entirely in C/C++. The customer has access to all of the well-documented APIs. The stack can support any number of sessions through different gateways simultaneously.
Our customer is successfully using our product in one of the most popular WAP browser. Our product was chosen by a large US corporation out of six WAP stack implementations as the most compliant to their requirements. One of the leading global corporations providing mobile products and technologies is also showing interest in our product. They are currently negotiating with our customer re-writing the library in pure C.
Today the WAP Stack is available for wide range of platforms including embedded:
Win32, WinCE 2.0 - WinCE 5.0, Linux, HP-UX, Sun Solaris.
Technologies:
C/C++, Socket API, UDP/IP, TLS/SSL
Tools:
Microsoft Visual C/C++ 6.0, Microsoft eMbedded C++, GCC 3.2, HP-UX aCC, SUN WSPro CC
Cryptography:
Key exchange, cipher algorithms, digital signatures ISO OSI Reference Model
